Small Business, Big Plans

The Federal buying season is upon us, and that means we’ve been busy at Federal Merchants! Our knowledgeable staff has been helping customers make informed purchasing decisions, while offering support throughout the entire ordering process. Popular items have included our docking stations and KVM switches, but we continue to offer a broad selection of products in all our product categories, including IT and office products, tactical gear and equipment, medical supplies, and hardware and tools.

Here are some other ways we’ve been working hard to continue growing our business for our clients.

Expanded Product Catalog

We are continually expanding our network of manufacturers and distributors to offer our customers the most in-demand products. We recently became a Camelbak authorized dealer, and we have also been growing partnerships with Humanscale, UNICOR, BOSMA, Zebra, Vertiv, Getac, MSC, Durabook, and more.

Networking

We’ve been building our network of businesses that offer capabilities to complement our own. We are so pleased to be connecting with many local businesses and beyond—Six Feet Up, Phoenix Data Corporation, Knowledge Services, XPO Logistics, OfficeWorks, Alluvionic, The Intellekt Group, netlogx, and Ryan Consulting. We have also partnered with DBISP, LLC under their recently-awarded 8a STARS III contract.

Webinars and Mentorship

We actively participate in webinars to help us better understand how we can make a positive impact for our customers. We also engage in regular mentorship meetings with the Indiana Defense Network and SCORE. We’re grateful for these resources and the guidance they provide. We’re always learning and improving for our valued customers.

Improved Web Experience

We continue to enhance our web experience for our customers. We recently launched a new customer service portal, which allows customers to submit customer service inquiries by web or email. We are also adding more product images and details to our web store.

IT Services

We launched our IT services site in May 2022 and have been actively working on several IT projects since. We’re onboarding three new clients for our custom software-as-a-service offering and continue to gain experience in the area of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Business Development

We always strive to reach more customers with our competitively priced product and service offerings. This month we responded to more than double the amount of RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs compared to each of the previous two months, with more to come before month end. We thank our many partners for their collaboration on these responses, and we look forward to supporting new customers as these upcoming opportunities are awarded.
